Margaret Coltman: A World Traveler with a Realtor's Heart

Born in Lawrence, Kansas, and raised amidst the vibrant culture of Austin, Texas, my life has always been a blend of diverse experiences. With dual UK/US citizenship, I’ve had the unique privilege of calling two continents home.

From Austin's Vibrance to Edinburgh's Elegance

My family’s move to the States in the mid-1960s set the foundation for a life rich in travel and exploration. Growing up under the guidance of an architect father and a musician mother, I developed an innate appreciation for the stories that places and structures hold. This early exposure to design and history ignited a passion in me that eventually led to a career in real estate.

Living in London for several years and traveling extensively has given me a global perspective that I bring into my work. My recent relocation to Edinburgh wasn’t just a move; it was a homecoming. With deep historical roots in the city, including direct ancestors in Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh holds a special place in my heart.

Life in Edinburgh is a shared adventure with my husband, writer Glen Oliver, our son, and our two wonderful dogs. Together, we’re creating new memories, exploring historical sites, and soaking in the city’s rich culture.

Beyond Real Estate: Finding Your Passion

While real estate is a significant part of my life, it’s not the only passion I pursue. As an award-winning musician, I’ve had the joy of connecting with people through melodies and rhythms. Music, much like real estate, is about evoking emotions and creating lasting memories.

When I’m not assisting clients or performing, I volunteer as a Search Angel, helping adoptees and others solve mysteries through DNA and genealogy. This journey of discovery, whether it’s tracing a family’s roots or finding the perfect home, is what fuels my passion and purpose.
